Our purpose in Singing is to glorify God by uniting our congregation through song.
Singing is an important part of the Christian life, in the Bible we not only find commands to sing to God
Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! (Psalm 96:1)
But also to sing to one another about God
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God (Colossians 3:16)
The Bible commands us over and over to sing, and for good reason.
When we sing:
We glorify and worship God
We are helped to memorize what we believe
We encourage one another and
We build unity in the church.
At Bryant Street, although we strive to make beautiful music unto the Lord, our singing time is not a concert, it is an activity that the whole church participates in.
